An event to focus attention on current calls for projects and encourage interaction within the community
On the morning of May 17, an information and networking meeting was held to discuss the project proposals of the Academy of Excellence "Networks, Information and Digital Society" (RISE) for 2022.
The purpose of the event was to focus attention on current calls for projects and encourage interaction within the community. It was also the opportunity to answer questions about the projects and help researchers navigate the grant application procedure.
Following a presentation by the Academy, two highly promising research projects currently under development were pitched. Their topics clearly fall within the scope of the Academy's scientific goals. One project involves the design and characterization of photonic integrated circuits capable of performing functions that are impossible with electronic circuits. The other examines the potential of optical fiber networks for detecting events such as road traffic disturbances.
The presentations sparked interesting discussions between researchers from the Lagrange and INPHYNI laboratories concerning the use of quantum resources to increase the sensitivity and accuracy of measurements carried out on optical fibers. These conversations might lead to future collaborations.
