Université Côte d'Azur is pleased to announce the launch of the Alpes-MAritimes Multidisciplinary Observatory (Observatoire Pluridisciplinaire des ALpes-maritimes - OPAL), a shared platform for high-performance computing made available by Université Côte d'Azur, Inria Sophia Antipolis, Mines ParisTech Sophia Antipolis and the Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur.

OPAL is a joint effort project of Université Côte d'Azur, Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur, Inria Sophia Antipolis and Mines ParisTech Sophia Antipolis supported by Région Sud Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, Communauté d’Agglomération Sophia-Antipolis and Ministère de l’Enseignement supérieur, de la Recherche et de l’Innovation. It is built on the sharing of the dedicated computational resources by these four institutions through a unified access . OPAL provides computing services during the duration of the project to all the members of these four institutions working with their industry and society partners for research, education and development.

The HPC cluster Azzurra, launched early 2020, is part of OPAL project.
