Renewed partnership agreement between Université Côte d'Azur and Danang University

Université Côte d'Azur and the University of Da Nang have signed a framework agreement to promote and develop the strategic cooperation relationship that has united the two institutions for 16 years.

The signing ceremony was attended by Fabien Ferrero, Research Director of the Centre d'electronique et de télécommunications d'Université Côte d'Azur  (Laboratory for Electronics, Antennae et Telecommunications – LEAT, CNRS, Université Côte d'Azur), Samuel Delameziere, Director of the French Institute in Da Nang, and Nguyen Cong Thanh, Representative of the Vietnam-Philippines Office of the National Research Institute for Sustainable Development, France. 

Those present from the University of Da Nang (UD) included Professor DSc Bui Van Ga, Former Deputy Minister of Education and Training and former President of the UD, Associate Professor Dr Le Quang Son, Vice President of the UD, and Professor DSc Le Thanh Nhan, Director of DNIIT, along with representatives of the heads of the departments involved (International Cooperation, Science, Technology and Environment, Academic Affairs, Educational Quality Assurance and Student Affairs) and representatives of the Board of Rectors, the Office of Science and International Cooperation of the UD’s member universities, the Vietnam-United Kingdom Institute for Research and Executive Education and the UD School of Medicine and Pharmacy. 

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Associate Professor Dr Nguyen Ngoc Vu, President of the UD, warmly welcomed the Université Côte d'Azur delegation and emphasized the significance of the visit. "This is the first delegation from a foreign partner university to visit and work with the UD since the reopening of Vietnam after the Covid-19 pandemic, showing the importance of cooperation between Université Côte d'Azur and the University of Da Nang."

The President of the UD introduced the exceptional characteristics of the UD, a key multidisciplinary regional university in Vietnam made up of 6 member universities and institutes, faculties, branches, and online centers. "UD has received the recognition of the Vietnamese government, approving the World Bank's ODA project to invest and grow in one of the country's top three centers of training, scientific research, technology transfer and innovation, at the regional and the international level". 

To achieve the above objective, the UD attaches great importance to international cooperation with prestigious universities around the world, in particular French universities, and notably Université Côte d'Azur.

During the ceremony, Professor Jeanick Brisswalter, President of Université Côte d'Azur, expressed his pleasure to meet and work with the leaders of the UD, stating that the two parties will continue to cultivate a long-term cooperative relationship. He highlighted the results of the cooperation between the two universities in recent years, including the creation of the DNIIT Institute under the UD, a creative model that is responsive to practical needs and suited to the cooperation between the Central Region, Vietnam, and the Côte d'Azur. The institute is building and perfecting the regional development ecosystem through connections between researchers, teachers and local communities and businesses.

A key partner in the international cooperation strategy

The Director of the UD and the President of Université Côte d'Azur signed a Framework Cooperation Agreement to foster cooperation and exchanges in training and scientific research and strengthen cooperation in the development of the DNIIT Institute, aiming to become an ambitious model and a space for research, training, innovation, and entrepreneurship in the central region and in Vietnam. The leaders of both sides expressed their satisfaction and acknowledged and appreciated the results of the cooperation over the past years, identifying each side as an important partner in the international cooperation strategy.

According to Professor Bui Van Ga, the cooperation between the UD and Université Côte d'Azur has a sustainable and long-term value because it has existed for nearly 16 years, with many important and comprehensive results in various fields, and continues to provide new opportunities and prospects for better cooperation…
The signing of the cooperation agreement with Université Côte d'Azur demonstrates the prestige and academic performance of the UD, and thus continues to promote the achievements and values created. It will support the DNIIT to connect more scientists and lecturers and help them to cooperate in research and innovation, fostering an exchange of experts, teachers and students to contribute to improving the quality of training, scientific research, application and knowledge transfer of advanced technologies, especially in industry 4.0 fields.
